Poem Artwork

Consumed by the night-

The flower gently weeps,

Touched by memories-

That burn so deep.

Eyes tightly closed-

Searching for visions of him,

Slowly releasing the passion-

That is held so deep within.

Bathed in the moonlight-

Soft sensual glow,

Remembering his whispers-

Causing the warm tears to flow.

Desires destined to fall

And run their course,

As though preempted-

By some unseen force.

Soft muffled sighs-

Escape into the night,

As the petals open-

Searching for the light.

But in the silence of the darkness-

There is a sadness that lies,

Knowing that he isn’t there-

To dry the tears the flower cries.

I missed my hubby so much!!! - the way he hugged me and ran his fingers through my hair. Often whispered "I love you" into my ears. He was the sweetest man to me. I wish he was still alive. I cannot find another man to replace him.

Love your image of the flower crying. A simple poem, beautifully crafted.
