She sat down on soft moss
Resting her back against the rough bark
Of a huge old tree
The newness of the moss and the colossal age
Of the tree combined to make
Her feel like a part of today
Yesterday and tomorrow
She listened to the trickle of a brook
Moving past her in its journey
To somewhere far away
And she felt a part of its moving
She smelled the richness of the earth
The fertile soil made
Her feel like a part of the earth
And the lushness of it’s growth
She looked up
The sky in its vastness welcomed her
And she was a part of its infinity
Endless ether stretching
As far as she could see
Farther than she could imagine
And she was part of it all
This is who I am
She thought to herself
A daughter of the earth,
Sister to the forest
A child of the heavens
An intricate part of my world
This is who I am

"The fertile soil made
Her feel like a part of the earth
And the lushness of it’s growth" - Loved this truly, it's as if in answer to my poem, "Who Am I" ... GREAT answer!!!

Ah...wonderful discovery! It was just a matter of time, after all...
Love the imagery, the expression, and, even more--the theme!
The drug called "The Shari" has been used for vision quests over many years. But, when all the rivers start drying up, the tribe must send a young hunter named Tomás on a much more important trip through the Amazon.
