Living Regret
As I sit here all alone
watching the hands of time,
All that which I consider my life to have been,
I revisit in my mind.
Yearning to take back those moments
that were so easily taken for granted,
trying to fill a void that I created.
Wishing I had done more instead of less,
should have bought that Harley,
or learned to fly a plane I confess,
even to swim with the fish in the sea,
or ride that bull, maybe.
Should have married that woman in my dreams,
I should have, could have, would have it seems.
Only if I had more time and a plan,
instead I sit here now with no time left
to do whatever I can.
Can’t undo that which I never should have done,
for I have nothing to show as my time is gone.
Just waiting now as the end is near,
knowing that I fell victim to my personal fears.
There is nothing left of me to forget,
as I'm living with nothing but Regret.
