I come here , dear Lord, to thank you
for the freedom we have today-
For the glory of this beautiful flag-
it means more than I can say.
Thank you for the HONOR , Lord, of
being an American-
For being able to see this flag waving
proudly under the sun.
Thank you Soldiers, for putting your lives
on the line..such bravery-
Thank you for defending this glorious
flag and our country!
God be with the many soldiers who
didn't make it back home-
Be with their families, Dear Lord,
so they won't feel so alone.
Let's remember Sept.11th - the day
America cried-
How we all pulled together - thou
part of us had died.
America has taken a beating just
to come back standing tall-
Look at this flag, my friends, it
stands for freedom for ALL!
Let's cherish it in our hearts- take
this time to bow our head-
Take this time to remember our soldiers-
the living and the dead.
Look at our flag with PRIDE - it still
stands tall to this day-
No one can deny the power it has
No one can take that away!
God bless the freedom it brings -
as we watch it flying high-
Put your arm's around America , Lord,
as I wipe a tear from my eye......

Wonderful write again linda! This poem brought a song to my mind. The song is God Bless America again, and after the attack on america, we do need God to watch over our country and bless it again. Your poem is a really great tribute to this country. We are "one nation under God" and may we stay that way for another 226 years..
