I feel.......
For the little child lost, searching
for his home
For the lonely widow lady who cries
all alone.
For the abused little children...they
are everywhere
Their bruised little bodies cry
for someone to care.
For the homeless and the sick..
Hold my hand
I'm a good listener and I will
understand.
I feel....
For the soldiers who have
suffered and died
For the red , white and blue
waving with pride.
For the single parent trying
to make it alone
For the sad little boy who's
Daddy is gone.
For the man who can't seem
to put the bottle down
For the scared teen on drugs
Only heartache he's found.
I feel...
For the parents out working
to make ends meet
Bills coming in and they
still have to eat.
For the man standing with
a gun in his hand
Ready to end his life
No one understands.
For the tiny little baby
fighting for her life
For the man across the hall
hitting his wife.
Wow, how did I miss this one...I don't know, but I'm glad that I stumbled upon it...you've penned a write that speaks to the hearts of many, you've said so much within the lines of this poem. For it is our christian duty to pray for all of those which you have mentioned above...I feel is a powerful write with much heart in it...well done my friend!

It is people like you that make the difference in this world. God Bless you, love Holly
Wow! Linda, you have touched me deeply with your beautifully expressed observations. I also occasionally sink into a quagmire of dark helplessness that the light cannot reach, so the images and despair you conjure penetetrate me to my core.
We all need reminding though that dark though our thoughts may be, reflecting as they do the misery we have conjured for ourselves, there is real beauty and laughter out there (and indeed, within).
I'd like to see you writing a mirror of this poem, a work that delights in the light and joy of life. If it has even ten percent of the quality of this poem, it could lift the spirits of many.
God Bless,
Keith

We should all feel the same as you do Linda.

Thanks for sharing...
There are so many sad situations and reasons out there to be unhappy and hurting and you with such a reality check of a poem give us a chance to see how fortunate we are and perhaps look at how we can ease the hurt of others. thank you LInda as always your heart shines through.

I cannot stop the tears as I read truth, the stark reality you have penned in rhyme. I "feel" the sorrow too. Let us not only feel but, try to lend a helping hand when and where we can. This is a lovely heart wrenching piece of poetry and I'm glad I stopped by here today. Well said!

I too feel as you have written in each line. I thank you for sharing and caring, you are a wonderful person Linda and I am so glad I read your site. Thank you.

Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.
