Allen, I cannot begin to understand how deep your pain is or how you feel but I hope this poem comes close. God bless and keep you during this time in your life, and know always that Leah will live in your heart always, so in that way she will be with you...
He walks alone...
Where two hearts beat as one
Now one struggles on its on
So empty inside, just a shell
All joy inside is gone
How can the wind still blow
Or the autumn leaves fall
How can the sun keep on shining
When there's nothing left at all
*************************************
He walks alone...
She walks with me in spirit
Not many can understand
That when I walk along the beach
Leah still holds my hand
Its the only thing keeping me going
Jesus and my memory
Of a beautiful , precious lady
That will forever live in me
*************************************
He walks alone...
One day I'll walk in the sun again
Or feel the rain against my face
But for now I am hurting
And I just can't win the race
Keep me in your prayers
Such pain I've never known
Its hard to suddenly be
A man who walks alone...
Linda a great write and when my mother died all those years ago, it seemed as if someone snatched my heart from within in. Her love was unconditional and constant. The gratest love in the universe is from God and His love I still try to comprehend and next to His love is our life time companions. So my heart goes out to J. Allen and my prayers ever before him. Thank you for some consolation Linda. Peace!!!
Beautiful words of encouragement and hope for a dear friend who is mourning a most devastating loss; he is in our prayers and thoughts! What a beautiful gift, Linda; very well penned! BRAVA!

Linda...I cannot begin to describe to you how beautiful this is as it clings to my spirit...when you wrote...
"He walks alone...
She walks with me in spirit
Not many can understand
That when I walk along the beach
Leah still holds my hand
Its the only thing keeping me going
Jesus and my memory
Of a beautiful , precious lady
That will forever live in me"
Tears of both sadness and joy filled my heart...yes the beach was our favorite spot...Tybee Island as a matter of fact...when I read those lines; I was there. I could feel her and I knew...Oh God I knew. It is true that only a few know how broken my spirit is. The hurt cannot be described....but your words put me on that beach...I just want to hold her hand again...we always held hands wherever we went even after all these years...sometimes I feel so lost and out of place...until one loses a spouse in the way I lost Leah...they will never truly know the entire depth of this pain...maybe I don't know, but maybe it is because we held hands even after all these years; maybe it is because I loved her soo deeply; maybe it is because I am weak...maybe its all of the above...but do know this...your poem put me with her for a little while...GOD BLESS YOU.
Your beautiful words of love, compassion, and pain brought tears to my eyes. The devastation of loss is in every phrase. A wonderful write. Blessings to J. Allen.
Linda this is so beautifully true for she will always be with him hand and hand and heart to heart in his love, memories and mind. Wonderful and touching write. Love, Bonnie

In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
Major League ballplayer Justin Moore is kidnapped from his own ballpark and transported to a foreign land. It might take high-level international negotiations to free him. Or maybe he will take matters into his own hands.
You write with such a grand magnitude of style, grace, depth, and thought . . . fantastic!!
