I realize I've reposted this many times but the meaning never gets old. Child abuse is REAL and should be stopped, so bear with me one more time. Its my prayer that my child abuse poetry will get through to some soul and make them THINK and STOP before hurting our precious little ones.

Poem Artwork

Crowded grocery store
People rushing by
Hoping they don't see
A grown woman cry
I still see his face
Engraved in my mind
After all these years
Peace is hard to find

Panic consumes me
I'm drawn into the past
Crying on bloodstained sheets
Heart beating fast
Teddy bear falls to the floor
A six year old can't fight
My screams of pain went unheard
Swallowed by the night

The shadows simply watched
Innocence ripped away
As my teddy bear slept
And night turned into day
Cigar smoke filled the room
I can't forget the smell
As I lay on crumpled sheets
In my own private hell

Crowded grocery store
But I feel so alone
Except for the feel of his hands
And the stench of cheap cologne

Powerful, Linda. Flashbacks can be just as scary as the original event. Funny how we never seem to outgrow them. Thanks for sharing this message. Hugs,
Sheila

My heart breaks for the abuse of innocence but the guilty will not go unpunished. Thank God for his eternal justice and you my dearest Linda for the poem. Peace!!!

No, you can never send out this message or stand up and speak out for all the little voices who can't speak for themselves. As the grandfather of four little ones to see that picture and read your words makes me so angry at a society where this still goes on.

Oh how it hurts and the hurt never goes away. Perhaps one day it will finally be stopped and forever locked away...

Be always safe,
Karen

Anyone who intentionally abuses a child or a baby ceases to be human in my eyes; the same applies to those who abuse animals! This needs to be heard, this bears repeating and it NEEDS to be shouted from the rooftops! Heartshattering piece, as only you can do; well done, Linda!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <

The message needs to be shouted from the rooftops, in order to stop this madness - well done, Linda. Heartbreaking!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
