I may not can change the world
But I can make a difference in one
Person's life
When I see a lost little boy I can
Wipe his tears
Help him find his way home
I may not can change the world
But I can make it better for
Someone in need. I can go to a
Nursing home or hospital..read to
The elderly...hold their hand..make
Them smile
I may not can change the world..but
I can bring a hot meal to my neighbor
Who is sick and can't cook. I can bring
Flowers to a lonely widow...and hope
To the sick and depressed. I can give
A smile if I cannot give anything else
I may not can change the world..but
I can bring a teddy bear to a small Child
Who's crying and alone. I can read them
a story and hug them. It may be the only
hug they have all day..or all week
Some times
Their eyes light up with just a gentle hug.
I may not can change the world...but I
Can still salute our great flag...pray For our
Soldiers...and our land. I can work now To
Make things better for our children and
Their children. I can teach them to Love
Not hate their fellowmen. That we are All equal
I may not can change the world..but I Can
Do my part. If everyone marches to the Same
Drum....not to their own beat...then we Can
Change the world. If everyone can give LOVE..
And have COMPASSION and GENTLENESS..
YES, we can change the world...TOGETHER...
Linda, I am glad I did not miss this one...it was both beautiful and compassionate...I thoroughly enjoyed this one...and in the photo above...is that you in the silhouette? Take care and a truly wonderful write.

I think that one person can make for change, at least in private, individual ways, it is when we all expect everyone to march to that dame drum roll that complications and innovative compassion suffer. Loved the poem.

Hi Linda
This fills my buckets -- was looking for birds of a feather
when I wrote "If I could. . . My Sacred Wish." Clearly there are many of us who are living from this space--sometimes I feel like its
partly a matter of realizing there are many more of us than it
"seems." Thanks much, Vicky

You do a big part though Linda, with your caring heart...
Your friend Ron......
You have such a compassionate and kind heart, Linda. I have always believed that banded together, we can make a difference. I can only pray that one day, my philosophy is proven correct. This was a beautiful write, my dear.

'Better Without You'is a compelling narrative that explores the complexities of an affair, hidden secrets, and abuse. It also highlights a daughter's heartfelt journey as she cares for her mother who is battling dementia.
In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
