Let Nero’s fiddle play for me,
When at last my soul has been set free!
Timeless melodies in perfect tune
Softly played neath a hallowed moon.
In Eden filled with heaven’s best,
I will lay my weary soul to rest!
Where only peaceful dreams be mine
Until the very end of time!
No more fears and wasted years,
Drowning in a sea of tears!
Troubles will be mine no more,
I’ll leave them all at heaven’s door.
If I can know such enchanting bliss,
Earthly bonds I will not miss!
My spirit will soar, free of chains
And everyone will know my name!

When Nero plays his tune for me
Entitled there goeth another loony
I'll have no fears or sea of tears
Tho heaven's door be locked up tight
To keep the riff raff out at night
I'll be next door enjoying beers
Saint Pete and me will get along
As together we listen to Nero's song

Freedom is a wonderful thing. But you really need it only when it is approiate. Excellent piece.

I hope this kind of freedom is a long way off for you yet Anna! But the sentiments are understood and respected and I agree with Felix, it has a spiritual quality that would suit a loving tribute to say'fare ye well'.

I can see this being rearranged with a chorus added to make a gentle spiritually moving hymn to be played and sang at the last good byes of ones we love...
