Resting Place

I recently visited an ancient cemetary in Saint John, New Brunswick...it was amazing....the sense of peace that enveloped me was awesome and inspirational!

Peaceful here, where they rest,
Their souls have been set free.
They’ve risen above this earthly plain
To the realm of memory!
Silence but for birdsongs
And the whisper of the breeze,
Nature’s tribute to this place
Nestled among the trees.
Worn, faded tombstones,
Remnants of those long gone,
Church bells ringing somewhere near
Life continues on!
But this haven doesn’t mark the end
For wondrous beginnings start here!
It’s an enduring place of comfort,
For keeping loved ones near.
