With the grace of an angel
And the guile of a sprite
Every woman dances to her own rhythm,
A distinctive tempo she feels to her core!
But deep inside her eternally maturing guise
Where rhythms reach towering crescendos…
Lies an Inner Diva that wrestles with decorum
Rarely, if ever, showing herself!
Nurturer, lover, friend, role model,
Groomed to ignore her Inner Diva
The fabulous tempo continuously rises!
In my youth I saw her in the mirror once…
A fleeting, mischievous twinkle
In the eyes of a woman not yet mature enough
To know she was more than what she saw!
Then life happened, marriage, children, divorce …
A towering stairway to the stage
Where my Inner Diva now dances
Wildly gyrating hips keeping perfect time
To deliriously happy music long ignored!
I have set my Inner Diva free!
And she is beautiful, and she is wise…
And my heart is at last one with my mind!
Now the dancing is intense, rhythm steady
Music rocking my world…
And the stage set for eternity!
