I suppose any of us who've lost a beloved parent can relate to this....

Poem Artwork

As sure as the sun keeps rising
With the moon to warm the night,
You shall still be here with me
Though not within my sight!

With a smile I will remember you
Once my tears have all been shed,
And I won’t dwell on losing you
But on happy times instead!

Though grief may cloud my sunny days
As rainbows grace the sky.
I will accept the angels’ choice
Even though I question “why”!

You left a priceless legacy
More precious than you know,
It’s the simple things in life that count
And I live this as I grow!

I’m part of all you were in life,
You will always live in me!
And day by day til my journey ends
I’ll live your legacy.

Great Legacy indeed, Anna. From the little I know of you, your mother must have truly been a wondereful person to leave those parts of her withing you, my friend.

As you say anyone who has lost a parent can relate to this. The good thing is that you have put those feelings into words we all can relate to and absorb-done beautifully.

And,you are doing very well carrying it out! A wonderful poem to your lost parent.

My mother just had a mini stroke on Friday. It attacked the part where she forms speech, so her speech, and even her writing (in an e-mail she sent to my sister) is jumbled. On top of that she can't hear very well–even with hearing aids–and that has made her stay in the hospital torturous. Fortunately, they are breaking up the blood clots with blood thinners and she should be back to normal in about a week. I don't want to write an ode to her anytime soon.
