In memory of my beautiful father ,who died after a long illness in Australia (our time)this time, 27 years ago..

For you dad: Its well after 5.00 a.m. on the 28th June and soon it's almost 27 years since you died and it is just 30 more minutes to make it 27 years when I sat by your bed at Chain Valley Bay and where I held in all those tears as my step mother Yvonne and I both tenderly held your hands and cried. It was pre-dawn when you left us. I did'nt want to let go of your hand Dad,for I would never hold it again.then somewhere far away,I heard a bell ring and knew this Earth lost  A very great Man.

I felt angels there in that room as they took you with them,(away from your illnesses gloom,) in those cold early hours, and dad, there are showers of tears in my heart... but I know you are better off there ,in Heaven and free to dance and whistle those lovely tunes that you did so well.I know that YOU still know. how much I love you.

The winter sun here is still sleeping but it will wake real soon.As always on this date,I lit TWO big candles in this little home's longe room... and I whisper to your spirit to let you know that I have not forgotten you,and I cry.I hope you find me here dad.

Your photo is  here in front of me and behind that one is big white candle and the other small one stands there too,and surrounding your picture dad, there is a circle rose petals tenderly scattered so you will know that you're still on my mind and loved.

I'm wearing the slate blue coat that I wore as you died dad,the one that I wear every year at this time, but it isn't quite as cold as it was on that morn 27 years ago.still though, inside my heart there's a blizzard of loss.

I'm worried you wont find me dad, I moved Suburbs again.Don't search out the old place this time, just look for the candles 'round 6.45 am...just  follow the  prayer that I am sending you. You'll find me in Bundaberg,Queensland this year, but I've carried all the memories from the past with me dad to here and I carried all their beauty of you with them too (my heart can't let go of even one).

I hold this ritual every year on this day dad.l will do so always.Your memory wont cease as long as I live.I'm in a dim light here in this little room dad,all alone today again as I pray for your gentle, sweet peace.

I'm  thinking  of times long gone and storm tears unleash.

I want to go back dad, to when you were still young and your smile beamed out magic, and you laughed loud and strong. and I was your little girl and you were my best friend. But...In my dreams, that will never end.

Dad, Just search for the candles-light this year, I'll be there,as always, on this day every year, I'll be here.

I love you dad...forever. I will miss you every day, rest in peace my dear father, my beautiful father, hug the angels for me,with love, always... and always, from, your proud daughter, Kay Patricia.

PS I miss you dad,so much.

Wow! What an excellent memory and a great tribute to your dad! You are an exceptional daughter who dedicates this time to your dad yearly. We can only be so fortunate to have a wonderful tribute long after we pass on. Well done, Kay!

Richard said it all. I will only say that your father was very handsome in that picture and your mother was so beautiful holding those brilliant roses that matched her beautiful green gown and hat so perfectly.

It is a painted black-and-white photo. I think the artist painted it got the colors just right.

Kay.... What a great photo. And what a beautifully poignant remembrance you've written for your "dear father." "storm tears unleash, blizzard of loss, showers of tears in my heart," These are powerful moving images. Thank you for sharing something so personal. Hope you're well and happy. Peace.... rlc

This book has been eight years in the making. It is mostly a jumble of thoughts written down in old spiral notebooks and hidden in the bottom drawer underneath various manuals for software packages and hardware long since turned obsolete.
