DISCO PARTY by: Linda Law
What were you doing when Disco was the rage?
Are those dancing memories just another page?
My body was young and lean, and moved so mean
Hair like Farrah, shaking, turning, all squeaky clean..
Donna Summer sang while we women did our thing
Shoes a mile high, wispy floating skirts were our bling
Him in leisure suits, polyester and all...
his high heeled boots made him gorgeous and tall
Kids came and went; as parents we spent,spent..
Where did those dancing days go...My bodies all bent
Our kid turns 50, please attend..Disco is the theme...
Dad and I look at each other and want to SCREAM.
Honey, do you remember how to dance Disco?
or....Should we take a lesson or two..or more...Oh!
No problem I say, we can fake it for one night...
How he asks... No clothes will fit...they're all too tight
Oh darling... GoodWill has outfits for both of us
You'll be suave and smooth, you'll see..so don't fuss
It's easy my love...I'll slick your hair back...
Stand you up straight.. the music will get you on track
Just stand like John Travolta...arm straight up...
swivel your hips, and stare at me with love..yup!
Point your finger in the air... twirl it...twirl it...
You got it...you got it... That's it, you are a big hit..
Sandie May :o)
