From Pigtails to Wedding Veils

My daughter went from frilly dresses trimmed in lace To jeans and tennis shoes. Then high heels, skirts and cell phone Replaced Teddy Bear and Barbie® too. Girlfriends, car and personal computer Were important through high school and college years. And in January 2005 when a new job took her away I helped pack her up and shed cold, cold tears. Today she’s back home but has her eyes on someone else Engaged to marry the man who stole her heart away. So with checkbook in hand we run from place to place For the perfect gown, flowers and cake for her wedding day. Soon her bedroom will be empty, pristine And I can move in my things and call it my own. But memories of Nicole will linger for quite some time It will take me a while to realize she has a new home.

What a beautiful young lady, I just know you must be so very proud of her! What a fun, yet busy time as a new joined life is about to journey forward with so many fond surprises ahead. So many mixed emotions, but the road ahead will bring so much happiness to be shared by all....

I can understand how you feel as you look at your grown daughter--bittersweet--glad to see she's thriving, sad to see her becoming so independent so quickly. My daughter is in her thirties and I STILL feel that way!
