People I met, teachers I had
My first taste of freedom
Learned independence

I did not know you
For we had not met

I had no aches or pains
I was in great shape then
I played tennis. .
Softball too

We would have enjoyed
Each others company
Knowing now what I
Did not know back then

We would have become
The very best of friends
