Mother Earth Speaks

You have stolen the beauty of my land

Torn the trees down to the soil

Abused its natural resources

You stripped my body of all its oil

Barren land stretches out to the west

You all have been given this test

Taking more than you will ever need

Robbing me of my fertile seed

My sunsets are full of dirt and smoke

Respect for the land has been revoked

Animals dwindling by the score

In the future there will be no more

Greed has taken over the kindness of men

Lakes teemed with different species of life

 Now are extinct because of their strife

Once the water was clear and blue

Now my waters are a murky gray

They will be undrinkable one day

Heed my warning, listen to my words

For I am your mother,

Don’t break my heart

Don’t steal my thunder
