Poem Artwork

He came home one night

The pouring down rain

would be the least of his

worries - his family didn't

know him; called the cops

and he was arrested.

Resisted - was beaten

severely; he awoke hours

later in a town that would

have nothing to do with

him; he was chastised

and stoned.

"Get the hell out of here

Nowhere Man!" Ran to

a payphone - called his

mother; "Mom, what's

going on?" "Hello, who

is this?"

Hailed a cab - had no

personal means of

transportation; got in

and looked at the hack's

license; it was his picture

with a different name.

Yelled, "Stop!" Couldn't

pay him - his wallet was

gone; ran to a park to

collect his thoughts; a

flatfoot came along.

"Beat it, no vagrancy!"

Headed out of town - tried

to hitch a ride; thought he

saw his brother; jumped

out in front of the car; was

hit; ambulance made a late

appearance.

By the time the EMT's got

him to the hospital, he was

DOA - sent him right to the

morgue; nobody came to

claim his body; he really

was a Nowhere Man.

While he was laying there

all cold and motionless, a

bright light appeared - was

his Guardian Angel; "I've

come to take you home to

your savior - Jesus Christ."

A man recently in Grove city Ohio, lived this life and was found dead. Even though he was a homeless Nowhere man, many came to his funeral as he was well known and liked by many.

I've a bad days but nothing like this poor dear souls. You come up with real zingers that hit the heart, head and gut at the same time. Hurt for him but in the end he received what we all want and pray for so I don't really know what to feel. Except relief for him. Love, and hugs for this TERRIFIC WRITE. Love, Bonnie
