I have grand kids to impress.
But I know they will see right thru
this little ditty.

Poem Artwork

On the Fast Track

There’s a time meant for mournin’
A time for transformin’
A time for those deep points of view
For now I set them all aside
To climb on that simple ride
And discover the dimple side of you.

When you came along
I heard a brand new song
That set my head spinnin’ anew
Your face was all a-glowin’
My heart was over-flowin’
Much more than my mind could construe .

You set my world a whirlin’
My thoughts began a-twirlin’
And now I’m on the fast track to you.

[musical interlude]

Don’t need no imitations
I’ve got the real sensations
Now I’m head over heels
And I like the way it feels
Yes I’ve fallen in love with you!

A-diddly wop a-diddly wop

A dip-a-doppa dip-a doppa do.

Back to a simple time of love and rhyme. For older men need never recede from the songs that warmed their young dreaming hearts.

I don't think they'll mind that their grandpa could turn out a song that would melt a heart and get her on the dance floor. There's something in bebop that rings true.

As your verses remind us, there's nothing like love to get one's blood flowing and the heart and mind coming together for another adventure. To be in the state of love is to know others of like aliveness. Sadly, the numbers are getting thinner and thinner. Guess another way to look at those less fortunate than you is to hope there has to be more to life's passion than 140 characters.

Oh dippity do dah day,
a fast track to love,
keeps the blues away.
(just don't meet at the crossroads)
