Poem Artwork

As you travel down an unfamiliar road, one on which you have never before trod,

your personal path curves in a certain direction, a turn chosen by almighty God.

Encircled in unseen crimson on an invisible calendar for an unknown time,

a meeting was scheduled for you by your Creator for an appointment divine.

The clock tick tocks and hours become days and months; finally years pass away,

and then one morning, you awaken, thinking it will be just another ordinary day.

Every thing has been laid out, but not for the briefest moment do you understand,

so it starts in the usual manner, a cup of coffee and a piece of toast with jam.

God made your divine appointment as an integral element of your personal destiny

so nothing else is of concern, not the person’s name, gender, race or nationality.

The day will proceed along, and then what you think is a chance meeting takes place,

and though you know not the person, something is familiar about the stranger’s face.

Of great consequence this person will be for you, but you had not the slightest clue

you were keeping the divine appointment that God scheduled especially for you.
