 Hermit

I live
I love
among rocks and trees

I can still see all
and for that I am grateful

I am alone
often and yet not

Wild creatures
come and go
I speak to them
it seems to me they understand

The great river down below
tells many tales
I love stories

Sometimes I feel unease
I find it hard to see the good
in this world
in this life

Perhaps good is an illusion

The river does not tell untruths
it cannot
it has lived this life since eons

Me
I feel up and down
like a child’s yoyo

But I think I have to accept
things as they are

No one argues when I speak
to myself

I am a hermit
on a beautiful hill
(the fool on the hill???)

But a lovely one has come
and has landed on me
nestled in my soul
like a sweet and pretty butterfly

I love her
I love you
I love me

As I believe it should be

I can relate. I am a hermit in a City that bustles. How much sweeter is this Hermit’s views of God’s creation Mother Earth. The great River below tells many tales...thanks for Sharing X

It doesn't sound too hard to be a hermit in a beautiful house nestled in trees. Somedays, I feel like a hermit with my computer and notes. We need time to recharge to the face the world.

A LOT HAS TO BE SAID FOR THE LIFE OF A HERMIT, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT KNOWS THEY ARE NOT REALLY ALONE FOR,...'HIS' NATURE SURROUNDS! AND THIS IS EVEN MORE APPRECIATED WHEN A BEAUTIFUL SPECIAL BUTTERFLY ARRIVES BRINGING THE MUCH NEEDED ELEMENT OF LOVE..AND STAYS AS LONG AS THE HERMIT...WILL PERMIT? NICELY DONE, REGIS. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Hermit is a word I have sometimes used but I like recluse even better, and though I am surrounded by other renters, I consider myself a recluse with a busy view of surrounding humanity...-e-

A storyboard on that pretty well sums up your life these days. You are so lucky to be where you can easily be at one with nature and still live with all the benefits of suburban life. Both worlds is even better.

It's not about all the material things in this world, it's about the contentment one felt within one's heart that makes each of us happy. Great poem and very meaningful! Thank you, Regis!

You're a hermit on a hill,
I'm a hermit in a cave.
I don't know about you,
but I grew a beard,
because I hate to shave.

Can there be two hermits in one location?
You've made me a believer.

Yea, her majesty's theater is there for you to see! Love is what comes from this peace to my mind. Love...........'nothing like it! The reason you don't see good in this world is because there is so little of it. This is a moving tale of a "Hermit" with a view!

Love ya!

Dear Regis,

This poem at first leaves the impression it will live up to it's title. Then it takes a refreshing turn at the end. I pray this is a beginning of a new relationship for you, my friend.

Love and peace be with you,

John Michael
