Dance of the White Butterflies

I saw two white butterflies
They danced together
Whirling
Twirling
Twisting
One around the other
Together
Playing

Low to the ground
Among the flowers
Up and around
Way up in the air
Dancing against blue backdrop
Of sapphire sky

I thought of you
I thought of me
I thought of us

We were dancing
Dancing in the moonlight
Waltzing in the shade
Of the cedar tree
To the music of the breeze
In the trees

We walked through the bayou
To the sea
We bathed in its gentle waves
Floated together
Merged
In unimaginable presence
Basked in the beauty of it all
Swaying together
With our ocean mother

We walked in the forest
We came upon a bubbling spring
We drank of its waters
Refreshed
Alive
Renewed

I took your hand in mine

We climbed
Higher and ever higher
We reached the snows
Of some heavenly realm
So cool
So white
So pure

We played
We had a snowball game
(We never fight)
It was a tie
We both won
And we kissed
Congratulations
For winning us

As with our love
Every moment
Is forever
Time is never of the essence
It ceases to exist

It is simple really
I so love you
As I always have
You love me
As you always have

And eternity smiles

The dance of the butterflies is such an apt (and beautiful) symbolic image of the lovely and loving poetic dance that unfolds within this poem. Fine work.
