 If We Were Ours

If we were ours,

What would we do?
I can think of a thing or two,
Or three or four
And so many more.
We would walk on the shore,
Bask in the sun,
Bathe in the rain.
We would run through meadows
Among bright flowers.
Chase butterflies,
Listen to bird songs,
Find treasures of nature
In the woods.
Listen to stories
Borne on the wind,
As it whispered through the leaves
Of the trees.
At the end of the day,
We would return to our home,
Among the unicorns,
Elves, fairies, and leprechauns;
Ready for a good night’s sleep
Under the moon and the stars.

If we were ours.

I feel right at home with all of those creatures you've described though barely do I ever get the chance to go with them on their jaunts...-e-

THE FACT THAT WE ARE NOT OUR OWN AND DO NOT BELONG TO OURSELVES, DOES NOT 'EXCLUDE' US FROM ENJOYING THE FREE PLEASURES OF LIFE, AT ALL. IT MERELY 'INCLUDES' OUR OWNER, WHICH MAY...CHANGE OUR PERSPECTIVE, JUST A BIT(SMILE). THANKS FOR THE SHARE, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Cool and creative. I believe you touched on every one of the little creatures of the forest. Perhaps it even answers the question, are they us?

A simply gorgeous poem. There really isn't anything more I can say except that it touched me.

If we were ours, the title got me and the poem kept me, so did the amazing ethereal photo. Have a blessed day Regis. xo

The body of this poem describes Heaven like my best friend who died, visited Heaven and lived to tell what it was like. He said it was more real than this life we have on earth. The colors were more beautiful and vivid and when you talked you talked with thoughts. So this piece of your poem reminded me of a glimpse of what he said it was like:

We would run through meadows
Among bright flowers.
Chase butterflies,
Listen to bird songs,
Find treasures of nature
In the woods.
Listen to stories
Borne on the wind,
As it whispered through the leaves
Of the trees.

Well done, Regis!

Well done!
