 A Fellow Named Moe and other Tales

A Fellow Named Moe

There once was a fellow named Moe,

This Moe refused his lawn to mow;

It grew tall and weedy,

Made his place look seedy,

As such Moe was considered a schmo.

A Cucumber to Remember

I once ate a bizarre cucumber,

And fell into a profound slumber;

When I stirred from my sleep,

I saw Little Bo-Peep,

Writing down that cucumber’s number.

A Fellow Named Porky

There once was a fellow named Porky,

This Porky was indeed most dorky;

He thought it was cool,

Way cool to skip school,

He is now in exile in Gorky.

A Local Rapper

There once was a local rapper,

Who slipped on a candy wrapper;

He flipped in the air,

Lost most of his hair,

And landed head first in the crapper.

A Lady Named Flo

There once was a lady named Flo,

Who just went along with the flow;

She was always well-dressed,

She was never stressed,

Her blue eyes were always aglow.

A Walk in the Rain

I went for a walk in the rain,

As I went, I sang a refrain;

This attracted a girl,

By the name of Pearl,

Together we got on the Peace Train.

Sleeping Beauty

When I came upon Sleeping Beauty,

I knew I must do my duty;

I blew her a kiss,

And I did not miss,

She’s awake and she’s quite the cutie.

A Girl Named Nauri

A sweet girl I know named Nauri,

Keeps telling me that she is sorry;

But it’s her internet,

And I am in her debt,

So, I tell her she need not worry.

A Fellow Named Lidster

There once was a fellow named Lidster,

Who preferred to be called “mister;”

When his wife was not there,

He did not seem to care,

Mister Lidster kissed her sister.

Chickadee

There is a little "Chickadee,"

Who met up with her granddaddy;

She made him so happy,

That he's her grandpappy,

In his heart, she's a sweet melody.

I always love the images that pop into my mind as I read your limericks. The last ones were especially sweet.

Thanks for helping to keep the limerick alive. In this life it's necessary to keep laughing as much as possible.

What a splendid revue, Regis!
Truly delightful how you prance them all out for us to enjoy!

"A Fellow Named Lidster" reminds me so of my beloved Papa, Dr. C.B. Slease!

He served GOD and mankind for 60 years! First as a Medical Captain in Egypt during World War 2(he rode camels!) and then, in his own hometown practice after he safely returned, for 50 years!

He was a man of the people, who sat on the Hospital Board of Ethics up to the day of his passing in 1991.

But one of his greatest qualities besides his integrity and holistic approach, was his sparkling sense of humor! He had a joke for every situation, and when he enjoyed his Scotch, he brought out his bag of Limericks!

He would have loved it! So well done, Regis!!!

Love & Hugs,
Rhonda

So often I get caught singing or reciting to the heavens, while walking in the rain.
Goodness only knows what impression I give...but it's all fine with me :)

Always enjoy your limericks. Some of them seem to come close to (your) home. And some are just hilarious. Very clever and adorable.

Moe needs to get in the Flo,
prefer neatness for his lawn
he can spray it with a can
of Round Up like a man
or get an immigrant to mow
