If I saw your life as an open book
I would turn back the pages
to capture a glimpse
of yesterday.

As if I wasn’t there,
but still could see
to steal those seconds
impatiently.

I would see you riding
your hair
blowing
in the wind.

Casting shadows
on the fields of green
with Ticket by your side
on an early morning ride.

People would come and go like an ebb tide
touching your life and disappearing
under your toes like sand
slipping back to the sea.

I only know you
for who you are now,
but in your eyes are all the things
that I could be.

Locked deep inside softly it beckons me…

A whispering benediction
on a slow moving train;
that keeps in time
with the rhythm of the rain.

For what I see
is truth to me
