Help for Hospice 5/16/2009 7:53:13 PM
Hi everyone. As I'm sure many of you do yourselves, I like to try and help out various charities when I am able. I have led a canned food drive for both the Salvation Army and the Humane Society at several of my book signings, however I have recently been introduced to another worthy cause that touches my heart known as Hospice. My sister is a registered nurse and works with this program frequently, which is how I was introduced to the details of what Hospice is and the importance of what they provide. In a nutshell, the goal of Hospice is to assist patients in the final phase of a terminal illness to be comfortable and free of pain, so that they can live each day to its fullest. Hospice also assists the family members of the patients. I wanted to try and do something for this worthy cause, so I decided to run a special on my books through the summer and will donate $2.00 for every book purchased from my website. I would like to encourage everyone to look up Hospice and the fine work that they do, and if possible, support them in whatever way you are able.
