Naked Truth 1/28/2011 11:31:15 AM
I feel guilty for not writing in this blog for so many days. I am so consumed with daily survival that I just want to write the same thing every day. . .things like, "I'm so tired" "Damn! Its Cold!" and "I don't now if I can hold up much longer!" and whats the point in doing that?
I feel sad to not have it in me to read and review my box bud's poems, at this time. I'm now living in my car in a frigid NH and am running out of gas to keep it warm. I feel too scared and tired to even be sarcastic or flippant or humorous about it anymore. And I can no longer pretend this is not happening to me, because it is. I'm at the end of my rope. But my humbled hope wrote this poem today. . .
Genuine Heart
by The Poetess (SRP)
I need someone - a genuine Heart
Who has spare money to lose
And is wise and insightful enough
To SEE these deepest truths:
I am in desperate need of help -
Of a safe home and decent job,
A healthy door or fork off of
This dead-end road I'm on.
I also need a miracle -
Peaceful time to heal
From the pain and strife
Of my homeless ordeal,
And a chance to write
My sorted books and songs
In the part of our world
Where I feel I belong.
I don't think I'll last much longer
Unless someone finds the Heart
To offer a kind and honest hand
And let me, from this place, depart.
I need someone - a genuine Heart.
This is real - not just a rhyme.
I'm begging you for help.
And am almost out of time.
