Welcome to my first blog posting. Most of what appears here will be simple stream of consciousness stuff (read: peculiar!)about anything that strikes me at the moment. I hope you'll find something of interest.
In the what's new department: my Lance Howard large print version of BANDOLERO hits the marketplace today. You can find it at amazon.co.uk or ulverscroft.com, and soon at bn.com. I'm especially proud of this book and the hardcover version went out of print pretty quick.
Anyone into comics? I know, I know, you're too old for that kinda stuff, right? What use does an adult have for superheroes? Well, in today's world, given the state of things across the globe, I believe that fantasy and those bigger than life figures are needed more than ever. It resurrects the child inside us, provides a wonderful escape from reality and I think provides hope. Most of today's comics are written for adults. It's twenty minutes (depending on how fast you read) of discovering your inner child and stress release. I would recommend a number of them: Hawkman, Batman, The Flash, Spider-man. Just don't tell your kids you're reading them--they'll just swipe them and get them full of peanut butter fingerprints...;)
Anyone seen Johnny English? A very fun movie starting Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson. If you enjoy British humor there are some hilarious moments. And for us ABBA fans, a special laugh.
