Call or fax your Senators today! 11/20/2009 8:13:25 AM
If you are against the latest Healthcare bill, make some calls TODAY! Emails won't cut it, they don't read those, apparently. I did this by fax, since I am a better writer than talker and when I get upset my voice shakes a bit. I am in an unfortunate position of being represented by two democrats here in MN, one of which is Al Franken... but I spoke out anyway, as I have done a lot lately. They owe it to me and all the other people they are supposed to represent to hear what we have to say.
Besides the fact that the basic premise of the bill is for the government to take over something so important to all of our lives, and the government can hardly handle what they already have taken over, right?, and a million other things that are wrong with it, as far as I, or anyone else can possibly know since who can possibly read the thing! Besides all of that, and the big moral objective of them putting tax-payer-funded-abortions back in there, how are we citizens of this country supposed to feel about a bill that is SO HUGE (2000+ pages) and cannot possibly have been read in its entirely and given the thoughtful consideration it (and WE) deserves before voting for it? Answer that for me, please!!! That is unacceptable. Every single senator owes it to the people who he/she represents to read this thing before casting a vote. It is just too important to pass it just to 'go along with' their party, or to 'get stuff' they are promised if they do 'go along'. This is life and death stuff here, guys - do not mess around with our lives!
I have never felt so betrayed by elected officials. Will no one stand up and do the right thing? Will no one stand up for the constitution? For the people? For freedom?
This thing should be "DOA" as some predicted it would be, but, instead, they got out their crash-cart and it is far from dead.
I really needed to vent. Appreciate the opportunity.
Call your senators, please, let your opinions be heard!
