Wow.
There was a time when I thought it was difficult to put words on paper and face them again afterwards.
Then there was a time when I thought it was difficult to let other people see the words on the paper.
Then there was a time when I couldn't listen to my voice on tape because it was too difficult.
Then there was a time when I let other people hear my voice speaking on tape.
And the time came when I faced up to hearing myself sing.
And now the time has come when I let other people hear me sing.
No-one can quite know what a journey that has been, nor what it took to get here.
I've just had a day given to me and I did a live unplugged concert in my office.
LOL ... sounds feeble, doesn't it ...
And to many it might well be but it took me a good 45 years to get to this point.
I recorded the entire album's guide tracks these past three hours. All 11 songs that are going on this one, the marps got to choose, the running order, too.
I did the best I could with it under the circumstances of time, space and unfoldment, and the reason I'm writing this is, well, for a historic note, but also because I'm waiting for the CD to get burned which will then go to the guitarist who will arrange these songs for the album and write the "snouts and tails and bridges" as this is musically completely beyond me.
I've finally done it.
It's a big deal for me, Ive been umming and messing around with it for YEARS now, and now it's gotta be enough and it's gotta be done, to get it done and for no other purpose.
The album's name is Book of Shadows and it's now really here. All the rest is just the tedium of endless editing and rehearsing and mixing and mastering it.
But today is its Project Energy date of birth.
No more "scratching at the membranes of becoming".
Man, I was so scared and nervous. I was trembling so much I could hardly hold the chords down. But I got through it and I've DONE IT.
I'm really proud of myself.
And that's what counts in the end, is it not?
The darkened stadium with the fans holding up cigarette lighters when "Star" comes on, that's that but this is where it's at and without this, any other future can never be.
Oh ...
The CD's done ...
