I guess I'll open up and admit to my reading public that I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I'm not crazy, and I take lots of pills to prove it. I've not had a problem in several years.
Well, I haven't been hospitalized since 1999. I have been real depressed, and I have been manic, but not out of control to the point I had to pull a "Fire and Rain." I see my psychiatrist regularly, and I've been taking my meds as directed. The most important thing for me is to have a doctor who trusts me, and who I can talk to. My last doctor hailed from Bombay, India, before settling in Dallas. Now my new doctor is from the former Soviet Union, and I feel like I'm in a "Boris and Natsha" cartoon when I go see him. We communicate well. He's put me on ADD medicine, and it's helping. There is a pill to get you to finish your tasks!
The worst thing about bipolar disorder, in my opinion, is when my moods get out of sync. I don't necessarily notice it until I'm overwhelmed. There are pills for that too, and I feel very fotunate to be diagnosed now--as opposed to 50 years ago.
The Harvest Moon is full, and I did my baying at it last night. I've been dating a fun, but bad influence old friend dude, and I feel the need to break it off. I need to do better for myself. I need someone who can understand the world as well as me. It's a small world when he and I are together.
I feel a poetic muse approaching. That's my best way to get my feelings sorted out.
