Some might think that you're daydreaming. Hello Everyone,
I want to start by saying, "Thank you!" By the time you read this, I'll be at 7,000 pageviews, and I'm now over 500 bio visits. I would love to understand more about what makes this site different than other writing sites.
I'm sure it's partly about the fact that you can't monetize your stories on here, which filters out a lot of nonsense, but I feel as though there is more to it.
I wasn't sure what to write about in this blog. I didn't want it to be just a 'thank you' blog, and if you're worried, it's not about the economic crisis.
I'm curious to know how many of you struggle with this problem that I run into sometimes while I'm writing. There are times when I will suddenly stop writing and just sit there and contemplate, especially when I'm writing science fiction.
Occasionally, it's about plot lines, or about a character's development, but more often it comes to contemplation about our understanding of the universe, or lack there of.
It's almost daily now that the James Webb Telescope discovers something that we previously thought was impossible, or something about which we haven't even hypothesized.
Sometimes, this can even bring my stories to a halt until I feel as though I have a better grasp of the concept, or maybe even a plausible explanation.
I think part of it for me is that, I've never written a story about time travel, and even though I feel as though I have a fairly knowledgeable grasp of how our universe works, I struggle with the idea of time travel itself.
Time and space are both concepts created to help us understand things, plus science tells us that the past, present, and future are all occurring at the same time. If that's true, then there would technically be no traveling involved in time travel at all. Not to mention that, if it's all the same thing without form, then how do you get to a different part of it?
It's that kind of stuff of which I speak. I do my best to stop myself and try to focus on the writing, but sometimes I'm left adrift in the waves of probability, having found a doldrums or an impasse of some kind.
Anyhow, let me know if this kind of thing affects you, but most importantly, how you overcome it if you do.
Thank you so much for reading. Have a wonderful day....[[|:-)
