Dollars have only so much elasticity. Again, I wasn't planning on writing a blog today. I'm still waiting for a response to the last one in which I asked for your help.
To start off with, I want to thank you all for over 8,000 pageviews. I am still bewildered by this. If I could get half of this traffic on Medium, I would be making enough money on there to afford becoming a premium member.
With regards to the previous blog, I didn't know what to expect when I posted it, so I'm not surprised or disappointed in the lack of response. It's only been ten days or so.
I quoted the Cheech & Chong movie title for two reasons. It's the first movie of theirs that I saw, and it's fitting for the current economic state.
The cheap bread that I buy went up fifty cents during and after COVID lockdown, but recently went up an entire dollar, and now costs $2.79.
We're lucky that there hasn't been too much inflation with the grains and hay that we buy for our 36 guinea pigs, however, gas is above five dollars, and so it's a lot more expensive to get the large bail of hay from the feed store out of town.
On top of all that, food stamps in Washington went back down to their normal amounts, which haven't been adjusted since before COVID.
I don't like being on welfare, and that's why I've been trying hard to find a story that can get some attention. Going on four years now, I've only made about fifty dollars.
Everything just keeps getting more and more frustrating. Some days I just want to take all my books off of Amazon and post them somewhere for free.
I'm not doing it to become famous or rich. I'm just trying to make some extra money so that we can live a bit more comfortably.
Don't worry, though, I am an optimist at heart, and I typically take the pragmatic route anyways. Impulsive behavior is rarely beneficial.
In the end, I won't directly ask for a handout, but I will ask that you share or buy my books and writings. Every little bit helps.
Thank you so much for reading. Have a wonderful day....[[|:-)
