This life is good to me most of the time. Bush is a great president and Kurt Cobain killed himself. Alcohol doesn't ruin lives. The education system isn't letting our children down. Love isn't pain. Parenting isn't the equivalent of a lifetime of fear and worry. Life is good to me most of the time and pigs really do fly.
I never said I had all the answers. I would bite down on a piece of tinfoil with a mouthful of metal fillings if it meant I could have just one single answer. Pulled in this direction, coerced in that. Stretched until my arms ache and my heart throws punches. If it means nothin to ya why'd you say the things you knew would hurt most. And if it means nothing to ya why'd you let yourself fall in love with me. You can never say I didn't warn you.
I used to stand on the edge of the waterfall, counting the seconds it took for the water rushing about my ankles to pull me over the edge. I'd fall into the misty abyss, let the water consume me. And in my own way I died, over and over again. I let the water sweep me away and died. Until the day you decided to blow your brains out, that death was euphoric to me. Thanks for stripping me of my fantasy.
