If Bush is reelected, I'm expatriating myself. 4/14/2004 7:36:24 AM
Sleep makes the time go by faster. I find some excuse to go to bed, say, at 6:30 in the afternoon so that tomorrow will come faster. And maybe with the arrival of tomorrow, something in my life will change. The sun rises and I make my daughter's breakfast. The sun peaks and I make her lunch. The sun sets and daddy comes home. And again I'll have a headache which will inevitably take me to bed all too early because... maybe tomorrow will be different.
I try not to think about things too much. As if thinking about them kills him over and over again and if I just ignore that gunshot maybe he'll live again. I won't ever get to speak to him or hold him but if he can somehow live again... I can sacrifice myself. Build an alter with pretty flowers and tears dripping down the sides like crystalline ornaments hanging on a wicked Christmas tree. I wish I had been there to see the bullet go through his skull. I wish I had smelled the stench of his death. Fashioned the crimson hue of his blood over my skin like the season's hottest jean jacket. Then maybe his death wouldn't be so easy to ignore. If I couldn't escape those memories, at least I would have no escape from his death.
Little blond boys with pretty blue eyes, they should never shoot themselves in the head.
