The Ups and Downs of Writing
I love the dicotmy of the piece. The ups and the downs are quite riveting and pretty realistic. Are we all manic depressives?. I actually have to grit my teeth and have my wife read mine. She is very thorough and ruthless. It works out pretty well

There's a definite sense of vulnerability here. It seems, to me at least, that this is a poem about growing up and leaving, perhaps, the safe haven of home, to experience the good and bad of reality.

POEM - Garden of the Gods
It is very honest, and appears to speak from the soul. The allusion to the Garden Of the Gods is an illusive magical place for me, and I have one pictured here in my mind.
