Hosting a book party at a friends house

Hi. Hope everyone is doing great and that you are having a Jesus kind of day.
I'm giving my first book party at a friends house. I would like to get any ideas from those of you who have done one.
What do I do besides reading from the book?
Is it ok to put the announcement in the local news paper if it is being held at someone's home?
What do I do to show appreciation to the host besides giving her a copy of the book?
What can I do to get the guest to offer to host a book party for their friends to come?
Are their any good book party games available?
