The writing of book number 12 is almost finished. I am currently writing my twelveth book and tomorrow, Saturday, I hope to begin writing the ending. About three scenes remain to be written - roughly 5000 words. The total number of words will be just over 80,000.
I gave myself a few days to let the ending 'stew' in my subconscious - I am a great believer in the subconscious.
I find writing the ending of a book to be an exciting and nervous time. I don't want to hurry it. There must be no loose ends.
When the book is finished there is still a great deal of work yet to be done. I hope to finished early enough to allow myself at least six weeks to do the revision, re-writing and editing before my deadline is due.
