Careful what you buy! 11/27/2007 3:29:47 AM
Last week I bought a new armchair over the internet. Afterwards I began to worry that the chair would be too big to get it through the front door let alone the door to the living room.
The chair arrived yesterday. Worried, I asked the delivery man what would happen if he could not get the chair through the door. He said, not to worry, he could always saw it in half. I laughed - nervously. Then he fetched the chair from the van in a cardboard box almost the exact shape of the chair.
1 - 2 - 3! the chair was inside and positioned roughly where I wanted it. He left me to extract the chair from the wrapping. I did this happily totally relieved that I had not made a foolish purchase - as I often do. So much for yesterday.
Today I am having a pork steak for my lunch with all the trimming. S is cooking this for me. Yum! Yum!
My brother usually has lunch with me too but today he is going to settle for a toasted sandwich. More fool him! He says he is having trouble with his stomach - no pain just discomfort but he won't see a doctor. Idiot!
My brother will go home at about 1pm. What will I do with myself? I have my little dog for company and he is great fun.
I'll probably watch TV this afternoon. I can't seem to get my brain in focus for writing in the afternoons. It's a great waste of time I know.
