Beautiful Oceania may be the first to pay for our sins.... 9/29/2009 6:36:04 PM
You will see over the coming weeks, the death toll rise dramatically in the Polynesian/Samoan Tsunami. Tsunami Waves often take victims bodies out to sea and many are not recovered. Currents drive them away, also debris from destruction maims many bodies and they are never found...most tragic: is they were unprepared because its been so long since one hit there. Many of the smaller surrounding Cook Islands may have gone under water and it will be weeks before we know the real death toll in those out of way islands... Just weeks ahead of the Copenhagen Conference that is so important to Oceania countries and Pacific Island Nations like Fiji, Samoa, Cook Island, Tahiti and now one of the first pre-cursors of the 21st Century's age of Global Warming sends a warning shot across the bow of our Global Ship! Unfortunately, the shot has hit some of the most innocent of sin!

It is serious and TRAGIC Consequences that are being paid by countries that had ABSOLUTELY NO SAY in the western "First World" Big Oil/Industry Politics and Corporate intransigence (stubbornness) that is putting these poor people's families, lives and homes in peril...
If Nature had any justice it would NOT be these nations paying the price for our sins!!
Yes, OURS! Who in the world has benefited by the world's sources of oil and industrial production. NOT these OCEANIA people and their struggling nations, only now coming into prosperity. Unfortunately, the clock is ticking for their survival first...
While we sit back in our A/C surburban homes, blued to CNN and watch these tragedies unfold over the next few decades.
This will not be the first or last Pacific Rim Tsunami...
Wake up AMERICA and SUPPORT the "Copenhagen Conference"
and the right that these nations have to ask us to reign in our consumption of the world's resources, in particular the use of DIRTY Fossil Fuels.
The lives of these very sweet and wonderful people's nations and islands depend on it (I visited there in the 1970s and there are no more friendly people than the Polynesian Races)
They deserve better from the American people and its corporate governments and Conservative Media that blindly supports Big Oil(State and Federal)
