Arrival of first books

Great to welcome the first batch of pristine copies of The Mysterious World on my doorstep.
Yes - on another morning of crisp sunshine, the first batch of two dozen copies of my new popular science/medical non-fiction title, The Mysterious World of the Human Genome arrived to my home. I may have said it already, but the publisher (Collins of HarperCollins) have made a wonderful job of it. The cover has an almost organic feel to it, so you enjoy rubbing a finger over it, and the pages are slightly tinted, so there is a vague resemblance to parchment.
I presume that by now my readers will know that the introduction is available as a free download on www.fprbooks.com. I've been contacting people on Goodreads that gave Virolution four or five stars yesterday and got a lovely welcoming reception. Just eight days to go before publication, so some will be reading it soon. It was a great pleasure - curiously liberating mentally - to write. I very much hope that readers will enjoy the imaginary railway and ultramicroscopic steam train analogy that lets me open up readers' minds to exploring the very mysterious true nature of their own genomes. After all, as the poets and philosophers would have it, it is the "repository of the deep inviolable self".
