In the autumn breeze,
The leaves are slowly falling down.
And I know it won’t be long,
Until snow is on the ground.

Summer now behind us,
Even though I long for more,
Another year has come and gone,
Like so many years before.

Now it is the time of year,
That the forest goes to sleep.
But through its months of slumber,
There is a promise that it keeps.

When winter’s chill is displaced,
By the coming spring.
We are assured the forest,
Will come back to life again.

It’s this time of renewal,
That I look forward too.
Winters chill won’t seem so long,
As springs promise sees me through.
