What do you think of and what do you do
When the unthinkable happens to you?

You rise and realize to your surprise
That the world really is a crazy place
That the human race really is a race
Where everyone runs and nobody wins
Your world seems to collapse before your eyes

When this is the way your morning begins
You find yourself shaken find yourself stirred
Not the beginning you would have preferred
To the day anyway but come what may
This is the way it comes and how it goes

In a world where nobody really knows
What to expect and what will happen now
Stop to reflect then keep going somehow
If things are as bad as they would appear
The only way to look is up from here

Our future hopes are born in present laughter
