Nothing

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Thursday, May 28, 2009

I’m going back to where I came from,
by the light of the silvery moon.
Somewhere in this universe or another,
I will spend a little of my existence.
Hoping to grow,
a little more.

My soul is vast and endless,
much like the universe.
Maybe that is what we are?
Universes flocked together,
locked in time and space.

Follow your soul,
as I follow mine.
Call me a dreamer,
call me a misfit.
Call me a nobody.
Because nothing is what I hope to be.
And when I am,
I am finished at last.

You let your soul fly and work through its own dimensions. Fine poetry, Elisabeth. I might argue the 'nothing,' but I've felt like that at times, too.

Love the poem. Really love the last three lines. They speak to what I feel. Margo

Nice philospophical poem. I like the last few lines the best. Oh, did you mean "vast" instead of "vaste"?

Elisabeth,
I like the points of view in this poem and I like the committed writing.

Thoughtful, provocative, I like the way you connect
your words, Elisabeth. Nothing? You are everything.
You reflect the spectrum of the universe. On the other
hand, you are as you think you are. You know? -gene.

Elisabeth,

It's always a question is to what we are and why we're here. Just be what you want while you occupy this space. Well written and very profound.

Wow! This was really good! The lone mistrial looking for nowhere because every where is where she is! Just great poetry!
