Heavy Weight

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Monday, February 22, 2010

A Heavy Weight is on my shoulders
it's been there since I saw you off
Brick by brick
added
Hour by hour
Now it weighs like led

The feeling is tangible
in it's emptiness
and achyness
It's hard to breathe it in
because
it's moist and sticky
And it tears at my soul
like shards of glass

How I feel
like half a person
Not even wanting
to become whole
On my own

I know it's peaked
From here on
Brick by brick
will fall off
Hour by hour
Until it weighs a lot like tolerance

There it will stay
until
We meet again
Where two becomes one
where souls are blended

To create magic
in it's simplicity
Effortless peace
and harmony
One day it
Will
Rule All Time

Because this is
no
small pass time
This is
Heavy Weight Love

Nicely written Elizabeth.
Yes ... the mystery of two
becoming one. How this eludes
so many in life.
Blessings ...
