Ill Lucidity

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Decisions were made
and deeds were done.
On haste judgement
when insight was gone.

To many times the bells toll
awareness does not appear.
For what reason is it
that I cannot hear?

Many days and many nights
have come and gone.
Behind eyes' ill lucidity
mind you it's done.

What road can be travelled
now this screen is no more?
What direction to steer
now that it is no more?

You poem expresses a universal and timeless theme about the human condition, Elisabeth. Poignantly expressed and meaningful are your verses. Love and best wishes,

Regis

A lament seeking direction for recovery of self image and a wounded heart Elisabeth. You have penned the end of an affair with the heart of romance. I did you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

I like the 'visual' of your title, Elizabeth. 'Ill Lucidity' rocks! So does ill lucidity. Tightened up. I guess the road new-traveled, promises much.

Ouch, hit by a deceptive burning flame.

Stay well and safe. x

I can sense a broken heart of something long ago that seems to linger and resurface, very introspect and well said...

Be always safe,
Karen

Sounds like a lot of soul searching and wondering but if you follow your internal compass I am sure you will find a new and wonderful path into the future.
