On angel wings you were taken home, To awaken beneath God’s glorious throne. You opened your eyes to eternal life, No more suffering or sadness, no more earthly strife. The beauty around you can never be described, But we’ll share it with you, in the by and by. We had a glimpse, while you were with us here, People drawn to your sweet spirit from far and near. You were God’s special angel he shared for a while, His hand was on you, even as a child. Because of your sweet spirit that everyone loved and knew, The assignment he had, could only be carried out by you. A guiding light, a beacon, an inspiration to us all, To be ready to meet Jesus, when he gives the call. No matter how much you suffered, no matter the pain you endured, There was a smile on your face, never complaining about a cure. Your faith grew stronger throughout the years, even in the hardest of times, Encouraging us all not to lose our faith, to step up to the line. And when your job was finished, when your race had been run, God was well pleased and said, everything’s now been done. An angel you were born, and an angel you’ll always be, I thank God for allowing you, to spend a little time with me. We’ll miss your sweet face and the precious tone of your voice, But when you woke up in heaven, the angels surely rejoiced.
