With Trepidation I Wonder

Step across the boundary to
Wonderland: I wonder
what it's like amidst the cosmos,
interstellar winds howling with
birth and death songs of
a hundred billion stars;
the scream of tortured hydrogen
sucked into the dark abyss of
black-hole dreams.
Cosmic clouds of beautiful
yet deadly gases, driven by
unimaginable forces.

I wonder what it's like in the
raw power of a planet,
pouring forth its essence into
life-giving waters, with
geysers of steam thrusting
rain clouds into the sky,
quelling the thirst of its
teeming life-forms.
I wonder, when I see
birth, life, and death
in raw grandeur.

I wonder: what it's like in
the microcosm of particle matter;
powerful electronic charges
tearing apart the material of
the universe, changing states,
creating, recreating, destroying and
rebuilding the stuff of our existence.

I wonder, and I watch,
bewitched by the power,
the intrigue, the
unbelievable facts of nature.
I am a cauldron of questions,
seething with effervescent desire
for answers, and yet,
with trepidation I wonder,
to whom do I address my query?

We are the complex benefactors of all this wonder, yet we are also a parasite, consuming wonder as though to destroy it in the process.

Stunningly imaged and penned, Dallas, you take the reader into the very beginnings of Creation. Well done!

I love this kind of writing! Great vivid portrayal of those mysterious and fascinating spheres which in reality do exist and enchant; but can only be visited in the mind's eye...or the hand of a deft poet. Beautiful!

Sometimes I think that 'wondering' is a gift which I hope we never lose. Well done!

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
