Forbidden Fruit

Life sparkles before me
in all its splendor.
Opportunities accumulate, as
my talents are slowly proven.
Joys await, a plethora of
the finer things in life,
and yet --
a nova dominates my skies,
no matter where I am, it
attracts my wandering eyes:
forbidden fruit.

Warnings abound,
my soul is in danger.
To my way of life
threats are impotent.
Death impends,
and yet
I am drawn irresistably to
forbidden fruit.

WE ALL HAVE OUR WEAKNESSES...THE BEGINNING OF VICTORY OVER IT IS DOING JUST WHAT YOU HAVE DONE...RECOGNIZING THAT IT EXISTS AND THEN..TRYING...ONE DAY AT A TIME...TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BY SEEKING GOD'S HELP. THIS IS A GREAT WRITE...HONEST AND APPRECIATED. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

It was once said that temptation resisted is the true measure of character. But God, forbidden fruit is always sweetest. Classic human struggle portrayed. Classic writing once again Dallas.

Interesting poem, for good or bad, remember, "the heart knows what it wants."

Cheers,
Dan

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
