A lonely figure beside her grave
A snowy wintry morn
The medicine came to late to save
Now he has to mourn

His wife for more than sixty years
A mother to their young
He fights back the tears
The grieving has begun

He looks up to the skies
And cries to God above
Tears streaming down from his eyes
“Why did you take my love”?

“What did she ever do to you”?
“What crime did she commit”?
“What am I now supposed to do”?
“Its me, I’m the culprit”

Head bowed, he walks away
Turning for a last glance
Knowing today is the day
His life becomes a trance

No more will he come to this sad place
No more will he look ahead
Sadness etched across his face
He thinks he’d be better off dead
